Hi there, my name is Helios! I'm an young self-taught artist, writer, and plushie maker logging my adventures in life here! I hope you enjoy my blogs and may you have a good day or night! | 22 | Trans Male | He/Him
Even though I mainly play Java Edition and I grew up watching Minecraft mod showcases, I have never actually downloaded and played a mod. I've considered using datapacks before but it's also just like... which one?
I have used texture/resource packs in the past, however (and still do). But nowadays it's for minor things (I have the Vanilla Tweaks enchantment glint, rainbow XP bar and rainbow enchantment symbols resource packs currently in use).kinghelios33
I was the same sorta way growing up! I watched a lot of mod showcases from a Youtuber I used to watch named SkyDoesMinecraft, but to my surprise, I only ever tried one mod that I heard about from IHasCupquake:
The Minecraft Comes Alive Mod!
I made custom skins for that mod so some of the villagers would look like my OCs and I could hang out with them! It was really fun! Since my skin is based on my OC Celina, I'd make a villager to look like her husband, Cenlar, and marry him so they could be married.
My favrotie texture pack from when I played on Xbox Minecraft was the plastic pack! I thought that one was really cute, but I haven't been able to find a similiar one for Java.
I watched SkyDoesMinecraft as well! (Apparently he changed his channel's name to Sky Does Everything, interestingly enough.) I feel like I mainly watched DanTDM, though.
I didn't watch much of IHasCupquake, but I did watch one series of hers that featured a lot of mods, including the Minecraft Comes Alive Mod... Oasis something I think the series was called? The mod is interesting, and I think it's still around (not too sure, though).
Omg, I have NEVER met anyone else who watched Sky since I was in middle school! And yeah, that was the name of the series that Cupquake had! I watched a few episodes of it!
My brother used to watch DanTDM!!! My brother was actually the one who introduced me to Minecraft when Bedrock used to be Pocket Edition! And the main Youtuber we watched together was CaptainSparklez! I know he still does Minecraft videos, and I really enjoy the stuff he still makes.
I looked up the MCA mod, but looks like it hasn't been updated for a couple of years. I really enjoyed that mod!
Peach, absolutely gobsmacked, talking to Steve: You put how much milk in your cakes?!?
I remember that there had been talks of a Codename: Kids Next Door reboot/revival which seems not to have gone through. I think it would be interesting to see a reboot, though, obviously with some changes to improve the show and reflect changes in the world since when it ended in 2008.kinghelios33
Oh! You reminded me of something!
After KND ended, there was actually talk about a reboot with with adult versions of the KND members in 2015! There was a video released as well and there was a whole page about it on the KND wiki here! The video and a bunch of info is all there.
The most interesting part of it is that there was a website made called rainbowmonkeys. It looks like an actual website for the rainbow monkeys, but when you click on it a couple of times, it turns into a database for the Galactic Kids Next Door with statuses of former KND members and KND villians! The text box you can type in is where you type the name of a character from the show! It doesn't care about capitlaization, but they need to be spelled right. For example, if you type in "Numbah 5," this is what I got:
I played around with it for a while when it first came out! I suggest trying it out if you remember KND! If you remember your KND terminology, you might find some interesting things here. :3c My favorite is the Delightful Children From Down The Lane.
I think they mostly made all this to try and get a reboot/spin off going, but it wasn't very successful from what I heard.
